Center Director

Seniors have a special place in my heart. As a child, I enjoyed going with my mom to visit nursing facilities and seniors' homes in the community. We would sit and read together, sing, and deliver small care packages. After years of doing that, I knew I wanted to work with seniors.

Malaika Mason is the center director for InnovAge's Richmond PACE center. Throughout her 20 years of experience in the geriatric field, Malaika has served in a range of positions, including as site director for a PACE center in Virginia. Prior, Malaika managed recreation departments for multiple adult day centers, retirement communities, and nursing home facilities. Malaika graduated from Virginia Commonweath University with a bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation and an occupational therapy track. She is currently working toward her master’s in health administration from Strayer University. Malaika is married with two daughters, loves music, and enjoys volunteering with seniors.
