Malaika Mason - InnovAge Virginia Center Director

Seniors have a special place in my heart. As a child, I enjoyed going with my mom to visit nursing facilities and seniors' homes in the community. We would sit and read together, sing, and deliver small care packages. After years of doing that, I knew I wanted to work with seniors.

Throughout her 20 years of experience in the geriatric field, Malaika has served in a range of positions, including as site director and center director PACE centers in Virginia. Prior, Malaika managed recreation departments for multiple adult day centers, retirement communities, and nursing home facilities.

Malaika graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation and an occupational therapy track. She is currently working toward her master’s degree in Health Administration from Strayer University.

Malaika is married with two daughters. She loves music and enjoys volunteering with seniors.
