Dr. Paul Taheri has joined InnovAge as Chief Medical Officer, bringing extensive experience in healthcare leadership and clinical excellence. Previously a Clinical Partner on Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe's Healthcare team since 2019, Dr. Taheri specialized in physician governance, leadership development, risk management, and clinical delivery optimization across portfolio companies serving millions of patients annually.

Before joining WCAS, Dr. Taheri served as Chief Executive Officer of Yale Medicine and Deputy Dean for Clinical Affairs at Yale School of Medicine. At the University of Vermont, he was President and CEO of the UVM Medical Group and Senior Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs while holding a professorship in surgery. Earlier in his career, he served as Division Chief of Trauma, Burn and Critical Care and Vice Chair of Surgery at the University of Michigan. Dr. Taheri has also served as past chair of the Group on Faculty Practices for the Association of American Medical Colleges and as an examiner for the American Board of Surgery. He is a sought-after lecturer on healthcare topics including cost of care and physician leadership.

Dr. Taheri holds an MBA from the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business, an MD from New York University, and a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from St. Lawrence University. He completed his surgical residency at Tulane University and has served on the boards of US Anesthesia Partners, Dartmouth Health, Trinity Health, and The Health Management Academy.

Dr. Taheri resides in Redding, Connecticut, and enjoys art, fine dining, and vacationing with his family in Maine.
