Kindness Counts

Kelly Crabbe
April 06, 2021
Given the speed bumps we’ve all encountered since early last year, now is a great time to celebrate kindness and gratitude toward our loved ones, our colleagues, and ourselves.

For those seniors enrolled in the Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), this could mean reminding a loved one of their worth or even offering empathy to a friend who’s going through a tough time.

For our employees, this could mean brightening a participant’s day, or offering to help out a co-worker who may be struggling.

We don’t see it every day, but when you reach out to help someone, interact with another person to make their day a little bit brighter, share knowledge, offer forgiveness, smile at someone, choose not to say something mean-spirited, or even show kindness or gentleness to a person who is hurting – you make a difference in their life.

Kindness impacts everyone around us. How we treat others shapes our immediate environment – at work, with those we serve, and with our families. As the saying goes, “Kindness is its own reward.”

The success of the work InnovAge does to support older adults depends in large part on having a workplace where all of our colleagues feel valued and an environment where our participants are supported.
