Reflections of Gratitude

Maureen Hewitt
December 21, 2020
As we approach the end of a most unusual year, I am deeply grateful to our staff, participants, caregivers, partners, and specialty providers for their unwavering commitment to InnovAge and our mission. It’s a year that brought challenges we never could’ve anticipated. At the same time, those challenges helped the entire InnovAge family discover our true capabilities, characteristics, and strength. I believe the results have been extraordinary.
Our team tapped into deep wells of fortitude and perseverance when the pandemic’s early weeks turned into months. By doing so, they were able to be there for our participants, caregivers, and each other every step of the way. As we’re sharing with the outside world through our television advertising (for PACE and LIFE), they have shown strength, resilience, and confidence in caring for our seniors in ways that make me extremely proud.
The dedication of our clinical, transportation, and front-line teams has been phenomenal. They figured out how to collaborate, partner, and serve participants in dramatically new and different ways, all while maintaining the highest standards of care.
Our entire support staff has shown incredible commitment as well. Their flexibility and ingenuity strengthened our business, whether it was securing a strong pipeline of personal protective equipment, managing claims and budgets in a time of uncertainty, enrolling participants virtually, or any number of other accomplishments.
Our participants and caregivers have been equally committed to doing what’s required to keep everyone safe this year. They’ve been flexible and understanding. They embraced telehealth when we launched it at the start of the pandemic. They have helped us create a strong and successful program for virtual appointments that will continue to be a key element of our care. Their strength and positive attitude in the face of adversity have given us strength, too. It is a true partnership.
We look forward to brighter days ahead, spending time together again in our centers as soon as it is safe to do so. Until then, we’ll continue to fully support and care for our participants and each other as we have throughout this year.
I am deeply honored to lead a team and organization that puts our seniors at the center of everything we do so they can live life independently and on their own terms. On behalf of everyone at InnovAge, I wish you and your loved ones a safe, joyful holiday and a happy new year.
