I believe the PACE program is a great way to assist older adults to age in place and independently in their own homes. My passion for the aging population and working at a PACE program, led me to pursue a career as an Adult/Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner.
Sylvia earned her Master of Science in Nursing – Adult/Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner from Walden University in Minneapolis, MN. Her education also includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology from the University of Phoenix and a Master of Science degree in Management from Colorado Technical University. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Prior to joining InnovAge, Sylvia worked at Rocky Mountain Senior Care in assisted living, sub-acute and long-term care facilities. She also worked in a correctional facility in Canon City, CO. She has additional experience in a variety of nursing positions at UCH at Memorial Hospital Central, HealthSouth/Encompass, Penrose Hospital, and Rocky Mountain PACE in Colorado Springs, CO.
Sylvia was born in Germany and moved to Colorado as an adult. She is fluent in German. She has two adult children who also live in Colorado. Sylvia has three dogs she refers to as “her children”. Her hobbies include hiking, spending time with family and friends, and social dancing. She especially enjoys Latin dance.
